For over 60 years, the Albany Historical Society has cared for some of the region’s most significant historical sites, collections and stories. Our work ensures the past is not only preserved, but brought to life for both locals and visitors to experience and enjoy.

As a member, you actively contribute to the preservation of irreplaceable artefacts, rare documents and treasured landmarks such as the Albany Convict Gaol and Patrick Taylor Cottage—the oldest surviving dwelling in Western Australia.

Membership Applications

Memberships are valid for the financial year from 1 July to 30 June.

​

To ensure fairness and consistency in member benefits and administrative processing, applications for the current membership year close on 31 March each year.

​

Applications received after 31 March will be processed for the following membership period commencing 1 July.

​

All membership applications are reviewed by the Committee and assessed in accordance with the Society’s Constitution and the Albany Historical Society Governance and Operations Handbook.

​

Applicants will be notified once their application has been considered. Memberships become active only upon formal approval by the Committee and payment of the applicable membership fee.

​

The Committee reserves the right to request additional information where necessary to support the application review process and to ensure alignment with the objectives, values and governance responsibilities of the Society.

Membership Period

​Memberships are valid for the financial year (1 July to 30 June).

Members who join during the year will receive full benefits through to 30 June.
